About Hadley Mitchell, M.C., Registered Provisional Psychologist

Hadley believes that counselling is most effective with a strong client-counsellor relationship. She is dedicated to creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere where clients feel comfortable and accepted. Clients have told Hadley that she has a compassionate, supportive, and non-judgmental approach, which helps them make meaningful changes and work through the issues that matter most to them. Hadley approaches all clients from a place of curiosity, knowing they are the experts of their own experience. She helps clients gain new understanding about themselves, their partner, and their relationship. 

Hadley is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She holds a Master of Counselling and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Hadley has experience providing counselling to individuals and couples in the areas of:

Hadley has an interest in supporting individuals and couples of all backgrounds with a particular passion for supporting the LGBTQ2S+ communities, as well as those exploring non-traditional and non-conforming relationships.

In her counselling work, Hadley practices from a strength and relationship-based lens. She merges concepts from multiple models including Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. More specifically, when working with couples, she uses tools from the most researched and evidenced based practices, including the Gottman Method, Attachment Theory, and Emotion Focused Therapy. As part of her desire to remain informed on current and effective practices, Hadley has completed training in the Gottman couples method, self-harm intervention, and trauma-informed training. 

In her spare time Hadley loves to adventure in the mountains and spend time with her family, friends, and dog, Luna.
